About
Hello! My name is Corinne and I’m an in-home personal trainer. I will come to your home when it’s convenient for you and build a program to meet your health and fitness goals.
Having owned and operated a dance and fitness studio, I have been a dance and fitness instructor for 12 years. Now in my late 40s, I recently graduated from the Physiotherapist Assistant program at Algonquin College. I had the opportunity to gain work experience at a physiotherapy clinic and at The Ottawa Hospital Rehabilitation Centre. During that time, I worked with people with:

Paralysis
Arthritis
Stroke
Knee and Hip Replacements
Depression
Concussions
Cancer
Shoulder and Ankle Injuries
I also gained insight into Parkinson’s, MS, GBS, diabetes, and many more conditions.
I have trained clients aged 15 to 91. I have trained individuals with Alzheimer’s, hip replacements, stroke, arthritis, spinal fusions and much more.
Having elderly parents who are now in their 80s, I have seen firsthand what aging does to the body and the mind. I am a firm believer that resistance training is important to retain bone density and prevent osteoporosis. It also improves brain function, mental health, sleep, posture, mobility, and helps to maintain a healthy body weight. Resistance training can also prevent many conditions such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and high blood pressure. Balance exercises are also important as we age to prevent falls and fractures. The Canadian Physical Activity Guidelines recommends resistance training at least 2 days a week to all adults 18 and over, as well as 150 minutes a week of aerobic activity or 22 minutes a day.
